Mark – Thought Tapestries

Welcome to the Thought Tapestries collection on the Gospel of Mark.

Here, I weave stories that draw out the raw, urgent threads of this fast-paced Gospel — unraveling the portrait of Jesus as the powerful Servant-King, the Son of God who acts with authority, teaches in parables, heals the broken, confronts evil, and walks the road to the cross. Mark moves quickly (“immediately” is a favorite word), showing us a Messiah who serves, suffers, and rises in victory.

Because these stories are posted sequentially as I move through the Gospel, the blog displays them in reverse chronological order. This dedicated page assembles them in their intended reading order.

Begin at the start and follow the dramatic movement from the wilderness voice to the empty tomb and the call to proclaim the good news, or step into whichever section speaks to you.

May these narratives illuminate Jesus as the authoritative Son of God who came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).
